TREATMENTS

Healing starts with using our senses and being heard.

Begin healing.

ACUPUNCTURE

A method of supporting the mind-body systems within their own natural healing processes. Acupuncture can safely stimulate the same healing response that the body uses to repair injuries or ailments. During treatment, the effects on the nervous system create a cascade of events physiologically in our body to help reduce pain, open channels of blood flow and oxygenation, and direct our natural “feel-good” chemicals to the areas of need. My style depends on the issues you are wanting to address that day I treat musculoskeletal issues with a biotensegrity approach which addresses guarding patterns and works to allow the body to self-assemble to the muscle’s normal resting length. I address more systemic issues with a traditional Chinese medicine style using points on meridians that lead to specific organs and tissue and work to rebalance passages of flow.

I a certified in Dry Needling or Trigger point needling as well. My first love is treating orthopedic injuries and I love the great results of dry needling for my patients with musculoskeletal symptoms.

A trigger point is a taut band within a muscle that may be tender to the touch or may refer pain to other areas of the body. With dry needling, the needling technique may elicit a local twitch response which can reduce pain and tightness, increase blood flow, decrease inflammation and facilitates tissue healing.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

A gentle, hands-on approach that calms the “fight or flight” mode of our nervous system. Craniosacral techniques work with the soft tissue structures of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head and the base of the spine. Craniosacral therapy helps to release tensions deep in the body, promote relaxation, stimulate the immune system and create whole-body health and balance. This is a calming technique I love to do in combination with acupuncture.

FIRE CUPPING

A technique where glass cups are placed on the surface of the skin. The partial vacuum creates space between the tissues which allows an influx of new oxygenated blood flow to the localized area. Cupping is beneficial to relieve muscle tension, promote circulation, detoxification and cellular repair.

TUINA

A manual therapy technique which helps to release soft tissue and joint obstructions to allow for better movement and function. Tuina can be beneficial for those who have pain, limited joint mobility, muscle tension, and acute or chronic pain.
